Anglia Fireplaces introduces award winning Tonwerk Storage Stoves to the UK
17th September 2009
New award winning, state-of-the-art Tonwerk storage stoves, high efficiency combined with a consistent supply of heat
With a reputation in the industry for introducing innovative and eco-friendly stoves with outstanding efficiency rates, Anglia Fireplaces has discovered an exciting range of award-winning storage stoves from Swiss-based Tonwerk. The Tonwerk Storage Stoves produce a consistent and comfortable heat and just one load of wood will produce heat for up to 10 hours with an efficiency rate of 85%.
These new state-of-the-art Stoves address the challenge that exists with open fires or chimney stoves whereby a room is often heated to an uncomfortably high level which can not be maintained. The Tonwerk Storage Stove gets round this issue with its integral storage core made from highly heat-conductive, fire proof stone. When the wood burns, over 60% of the energy produced is captured by the core, stored up and then slowly released back into the home.
“Innovative design is something we at Anglia are naturally drawn too and the Tonwerk Stoves are in a league of their own,” says Graham Vialls, managing director of Anglia Fireplaces who are the sole distributors of the Tonwerk range in the UK. “The Tonwerk Storage Stoves offer something for everyone: from futuristic stoves to fires which rotate, to a model that doubles up as a gourmet oven.”
He continued, “The Tonwerk range radiates a balanced supply of heat rays throughout the entire room, keeping the temperature comfortable and cosy for hours at a time. And, less dust is distributed in the process because there is no movement of air, an important consideration for children and those with allergies.
“Celsius will certainly create a lot of interest in our newly upgraded showroom this autumn,” believes Graham.
Tonwerk Storage Stoves costs from £5,000 (including VAT). Claddings come in a choice of 15 colours and there are a range of finishes to choose from including: a rough textured concrete look, soapstone, a textured concrete look, or polished cladding in granite.
The Tonwerk range consists of five storage stoves, including:
- T-One Swing: A compact and slim stove featuring a frameless door made entirely from glass. Logs are loaded into the vertical combustion chamber in an upright position, giving a slow burn from top to bottom. The Stove heats up in 20-30 minutes and one load of wood will give 6 hours of heat.
- T-One Stone: A modern cubist design, the T-One Stone has a glass front, top-to-bottom burning. A unique baking unit is incorporated into the stove transforming it into a gourmet oven. One load of wood will give heat for over six hours and allows you to bake bread, pizza or same at the same time.
- T-Loft: Combining clean lines and elegant design, the T-Loft has outstanding heat performance and will start to dissipate radiant heat just 45 minutes after being lit and will continue so for over 10 hours. The stove also offers flexibility in its location, with the flue capable of being connected at the back or top.
- Topolino: Plain but stunning elegance is combined with some clever operating features, including a door handle that doubles up as the air valve and a frameless glass door. Taking up to an hour to heat up to maximum capacity, the Topolino will provide over 12 hours of cosy radiant heat with just one load of logs.
- T-Eye: A futuristic eye-catcher, the T-Eye heat storage stove has unusually rounded contours and is compact enough to fit even into rooms with sloping ceilings. It can even rotate to ensure the stove is facing in the direction required. With its higher wood loading door, the T-Eye is much cleaner, since no ash can fall to the floor and is much safer for young children.
In Switzerland where Tonwerk was designed, the storage stoves have won numerous awards, including: Swiss Design Prize, MUT Environmental Prize, awarded for eco-friendly developments, Vhe Swiss Quality seal and the Swiss National Prize for Product Design. Even across the border Tonwerk’s design credentials have been recognised; winning Design Plus and the red dot award for high quality design in Germany.
Available from September 2009 at Anglia Fireplaces’ Impington-based studio near Cambridge and at selected distributors throughout the country, the Tonwerk range is available to view at Anglia’s showroom.
